@GoMetricToday I actually purchased an Insight, I had it for a year and the more I drove the car the more I hated it. I eventually traded it for a 2010 Prius. The Insight was loosing its value at an accelerated rate.

I watched Classic car DVD’s they say recycling classic Cars and saving them is green and good for enviroment. So why are people given incentives to buy brand new Cars if they scrap their old car (which is not that old anyway, and much newer than these classic Cars.) Also these newer old Cars are much more enviroment friendly than the much older classic Cars. I dont understand, please help.

There are two types of green autos. One is electric autos and another one is hybrid autos. In actual use, hybrid Cars are more useful than electric Cars.

Green auto is environment friendly. In order to run electric Cars, it must be charged properly in power stations. At these power stations, 30% to 40% of the energy is converted to the electricity. During this conversation process, 30 percent of the electricity is lost along with the electric cables. Hence, before reaching this generated energy to the car, much of the energy is lost. This car is made up of three different components such as Electric motor, controller and the batteries. The controller acts as on and off switch for controlling the functions. This type of green autos surely helps to decrease pollution, but they aren’t efficient at all. So, it’s always better to go for another available option and that is Hybrid autos.

Industry leaders hope to someday bring this technology onto the motorways. They envision a dynamics in-motion system, consisting of a series of plates laid under the surface of designated lanes that would allow motorists to charge as they drive. Such a system would solve the driving range issues faced by electric vehicles today, and researchers believe it’s technologically possible; but skeptics don’t see it as an economically realistic goal and the concept is a long way from development.
